The site is located at Crescent Heights and Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. This site is ideally situated to take advantage of breath-taking views while also being close enough to the Hollywood Hills to be perceived as part of the neighborhood as a whole.
For an important artery in Los Angeles, Sunset Strip lacks any definitive boundaries. Foothill Basque (Spanish for forest) is thus conceived as a landmark positioned at the Eastern end of the Hollywood strip.
This project is unique in its extensive floor plate that encompasses residential and retail areas. The result is a need for nearly 1,000 parking spots. By placing parking underground the street level retail is kept accessible both physically and visually.
The canopy protects patrons from the sun while shielding those above from street noise. The grand staircase is designed to accommodate musicians and artists creating an active vertical plaza.
The expansive rooftop amenity can be used by residents to host private parties. Residents will enjoy unobstructed views that span from the Pacific Ocean to the Hollywood sign.
An important feature of the site is a series of landscape terraces and groves. These landscaped pockets create an intimate interior/exterior experience within an urban context.
