The Barber Motor Sports Museum collection is the world’s largest private motorcycle collection. At its peak, it contained more than 1,000 vehicles. The collection features virtually every American make as well as numerous foreign motorcycles. Recognized as a national treasure to be preserved, George Barber set out to build an addition to his already hugely successful museum to preserve his collection.
The design is located on the inside portion of his Porsche Training race track. The most difficult part of this design was in the development of a bridge across the track. The height along with visibility lines needed to be optimized. The exterior was intended to be simple and modern whereas the interior was intended to be much more expressive.
