Located in the heart of Los Angeles' Skid Row, the project is a 17 story residence aimed at providing refuge for vulnerable populations in the neighborhood.
The project introduces 302 fully equipped units in an area sorely lacking in housing.
Each unit is efficiently laid out and equipped with private kitchens and baths as well as large floor to ceiling windows for maximum daylight.
The project is loaded with amenities and open spaces that aim to nurture feelings of safety and tranquility.
The upper level of the garage structure is programmed with an abundance of seating and landscape to act as a refuge for residents.
Multi-level shared spaces are interspersed along the building's facade and overlook the LA skyline. At various sizes, they provide residents the opportunity to build local communities at whichever scale they find most comfortable.
The ground floor is heavily landscaped to provide a placid buffer to the immediate street while the second level hosts offices for Weingart case workers.
The project is designed to provide as much landscape, open space, and community areas while balancing the tenant's needs for safety and privacy.
